Pelvic Floor Health After Loss

When returning to exercise after pregnancy and delivery the pelvic floor needs very intentional attention and restoration. As a loss mother there are many complex feelings associated with healing the body after delivery. Even just moving the body and touching the belly is emotionally painful. Healing takes you further away from the moments where your baby was alive in your belly.

Mothers who have experienced loss will still go through the assumed normal postpartum healing but mothers who have experienced tragic pregnancy loss, stillbirth, traumatic and life threatening deliveries or infant loss also have trauma to navigate which impacts the physical healing process. Loss mothers often miss out on this intentional postpartum recovery because the majority of programs include content that is very triggering for a mother who just lost her baby and those programs do not take into consideration the toll that trauma and grief takes on the body and how it impacts the healing process. 

After Rainey died I knew that I would write programs for mothers like me. Mothers who still very much have a postpartum body with no baby and a body that needs to be healed. 

This eight week course will help you develop a solid understanding of what diastasis recti, pelvic pain and what pelvic floor dysfunction is.The weekly exercises will heal your physical body safely and prepare your body to return to the type of exercise and movements you enjoy most with confidence in eight weeks!

What is unique about this program?

  • The program was designed to allow you to start from week 1, day 1 after your loss or months to years after loss.

    • This does not mean that women can only utilize the program if they just recently lost their baby, but it is meant to also be an immediate support to mothers and for those who are many months to years after loss. The program being written in this way will also help you step back into that times and heal pieces of yourself from those early days that may have never been given the adequate attention, love or support to heal. 

  • The program is completely trigger free

  • Weekly devotional and weekly journaling prompts for you to reflect on your grief journey and physical recovery

How many workouts a week?

  • The first four weeks is focused on developing a solid foundation with breath work

  • After the first four weeks, there will be three workouts a week 

Is there anything specific for C- Section Recovery?

  • Yes! The program includes videos of scar mobilization and exercises to help regain sensation and mobility of the scar

How early can I start?

  • You can begin the program the first week after birth. I have written it from the firsts days after my own delivery of Rainey

  • If it has been many months or years since you gave birth this program is still a perfect fit for you

Is this program appropriate for women who are Pregnant After Loss (PAL)?

No, this program is only 8 weeks long with the main focus on healing diastasis recti and pelvic floor pain. This short program is only focused on early postpartum restoration. However, The Recovery After Loss Program is appropriate for pregnant mothers and I will be releasing even more resources in the near future for PAL!

Writing these programs brings me some peace after Rainey’s death. I feel that this is where I am meant to be, helping mothers like me who are just trying to put one foot in front of the other after such a horrible loss.

My hope is that in providing this safe space for mothers to heal their bodies with quality information they feel comfortable releasing some part of their heart to me as they take small intentional steps towards physical and emotional healing everyday.
